UKULELE
Like the guitar, the ukulele is even more portable. One of the easiest instruments to learn, anyone can pick it up and be playing the basics in just a few hours. It, in fact, is the perfect gateway instrument to the guitar. Little kids and adults with small hands can easily wrap their hands around it.
Shawn has been teaching and performing multiple styles of music on the ukulele for over 15 years. He is really partial to jazz standards as well as using fingerpicks on his banjo uke to play bluegrass and Americana. Shawn has had the incredible experience of playing uke in front of a sold-out audience at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison Colorado!
Remember any song can be transposed to the ukulele, so virtually all songs on the guitar list can be played here too. Here is just a sample list of the bands, artists, and songs Shawn has taught over the years on the uke:
Somewhere Over The Rainbow (both old and modern versions)
I’m Yours (Jason Mraz)
When I’m 64 (The Beatles)
Dream A Little Dream Of Me
Sweet Georgia Brown
Can You Picture That (The Muppets)
Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out (Clapton Unplugged version)
All Of Me
Tom Waits
Tennessee Waltz
Old Home Place
